About this role
The Integration Team is responsible for designing, building, and supporting integrations between on-premises and cloud-based enterprise applications, using Microsoft Azure technologies such as Azure API Management (APIM), Azure Service Bus, and Azure Data Factory. The team provides ongoing support, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting services while collaborating with software development teams to design and implement APIs and data pipelines that support a range of business-critical modernisation initiatives. The Assistant Director plays a pivotal role in coordinating the team's efforts to design, build, and support enterprise integrations. This position provides leadership and direction across integration projects, ensuring delivery aligns with organisational priorities, business needs, and strategic objectives. The role is responsible for fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment, allocating work, monitoring progress, managing risks and issues, and supporting the successful delivery of outcomes. Acting as a key liaison between technical teams, stakeholders, and business areas, the Assistant Director ensures integration solutions are delivered to a high standard, within agreed timeframes, and in line with business requirements. The Assistant Director also provides mentorship and guidance to team members, promotes knowledge sharing, and supports professional growth and capability development across the team. Working under broad direction, the role is responsible for managing complex and sensitive work and applying specialist expertise across a range of activities related to enterprise integration and software application development. To excel you’ll have: • Demonstrated experience leading technical teams and managing enterprise integration projects. • Ability to communicate with influence, negotiate outcomes, and manage complex stakeholder relationships. • Experience delivering results within tight timeframes while managing competing priorities. • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage staff, develop capability, support career development, and foster a professional team culture. • Demonstrated personal drive and integrity while achieving results within legislative and budget parameters. • Experience establishing clear performance expectations, monitoring outcomes through reporting and metrics, and driving continuous improvement to achieve high-quality operational and project results. Desirable • Familiarity with Microsoft technologies like C#, .NET Core, Web API, SQL server. • Familiarity with cloud-based software development tools like Azure API gateways, Azure Functions, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Logic Apps, or with AWS. • Knowledge of CI/CD tools like Azure DevOps and GitHub.
