About this role
Reporting to the Director, Skills Assessments, Finance and Reporting team, the Finance, Data and Reporting Assistant Director is responsible for the development and management of the Trades Recognition Australia (TRA) Branch’s financial and data reporting tools, including TRA cost recovery modelling, skills assessment demand forecasting and performance analysis of the Branch’s five TRA skills assessment programs. Responsibilities of the Assistant Director – Finance, Data and Reporting may include: • Development, implementation, and periodic reviews of the TRA cost recovery model • Ongoing monitoring of forecast demand against actual applicant demands for TRA’s skills assessment programs • Analysis of available data holdings to detect changes or emerging trends that may affect efficient delivery of TRA assessment services • Management of the branch’s budget, its data holdings and development of reporting tools • Management of TRA’s Senate Estimates preparation • Cost and demand modelling for New Policy Proposals • Supervising, guiding, and mentoring a specialised team • Provision of evidence-based advice on financial modelling, data and reporting to inform and advocate sound decision-making on complex matters.
