You will work within the DASA team responsible for the assurance of aircraft design, production and certification to achieve the following: • Enhancing the Defence Aviation Safety Regulations (DASR). • Researching civilian and military aviation safety frameworks. • Developing policy and guidance for the Australian Defence aviation context. • Responding to stakeholder queries. • Producing educational resources. • Delivering training programs. About our Team The Initial Airworthiness Regulation and Promotion (IARP) team provides policy, regulation and education expertise within the Directorate of Initial Airworthiness (DIA) at DASA. Our team thrives on working closely with stakeholders across our organisation to assure the safety of Defence aircraft through: Promulgating initial airworthiness policy, regulation and guidance material. Promoting Defence aviation safety through education and training. Supporting the certification and oversight of Defence aviation systems and organisations. Our Ideal Candidate DASA is looking for an enthusiastic aviation professional with a keen focus on practical aviation safety outcomes. Our ideal candidate is a confident communicator who can effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary stakeholders to achieve outcomes. DASA is looking for individuals who can adapt their prior aviation or regulatory experience to make a difference to Defence aviation safety. Our ideal candidate will have: • An understanding of contemporary, outcome based regulations, in particular related to the design, production and certification of aircraft. • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information in a clear and engaging manner. • Critical thinking skills to research and analyse aviation safety frameworks to inform policy development. • The ability to work within an integrated workforce and engage with key stakeholders. • Resourcefulness, independence and a willingness to try new approaches to reach a desired outcome.
