As an APS 5 Capability Analyst within the Independent Assurance Review Team, your ability to provide expertise, independently analyse project documentation, collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders, and provide tailored, high quality verbal and written advice to senior executives, will be critical to success. You will assist the Capability Analyst Team Leader to implement a demanding program, working under limited direction, to oversee a range of activities and continually applying knowledge of project management, and best practice in relation to capability analytics within Defence. This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Collective Agreement (DECA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability. Our Ideal Candidate We are seeking a Capability Analyst who can adapt to the dynamic Defence environment and changing operational priorities. You will thrive in this role if you: • Have experience working in a project environment, demonstrate adaptability, and consistently model professional and collaborative behaviour. • Apply critical thinking and sound judgement to analyse issues, solve problems, make informed decisions and support others in implementing solutions. • Communicate clearly and confidently, both in writing and verbally, producing accurate, timely outputs that span multiple complex projects. • Demonstrate strong organisational skills and initiative, with the ability to influence stakeholders whilst maintaining excellent attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and consistency. • Have experience in, or the ability to quickly acquire knowledge of, Defence project and assurance policies, processes and systems.
