About the Opportunity As part of the Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) Drug & Alcohol Service, you will provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients undertaking alcohol and drug withdrawal in a supportive inpatient environment. This position plays a a vital role in delivering safe, compassionate, and evidence-based care for patients undergoing alcohol and drug withdrawal. In this role you will: • Deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to patients undertaking alcohol and drug withdrawal in a specialist inpatient setting. • Assess, monitor, and manage patients throughout the withdrawal process, ensuring safe, high-quality clinical care and accurate documentation. • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, patients, carers, and external providers to support recovery-focused outcomes. • Contribute to continuous improvement through clinical supervision, professional development, quality initiatives, and mentoring of junior nursing staff. For more information about this role, please view the Position Description About You We are looking for someone who has: • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). • Demonstrated clinical experience in alcohol and other drug withdrawal management, with the ability to deliver safe, evidence-based care. • Strong communication, interpersonal, and clinical documentation skills, with confidence working within a multidisciplinary team. • A compassionate, non-judgemental approach, with an understanding of harm reduction principles and experience supporting patients with complex needs. • Resilience, sound clinical judgement, and a commitment to continuous professional development, quality improvement, and person-centred care.
