About this role

The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and strategic leader to fill the position of Cloud Services, Assistant Director (PEL1) within the Digital Capability and Operations (DCO) Branch. The Cloud Services, Assistant Director is responsible for leading the delivery, governance, and continuous improvement of DPS cloud platforms and services, ensuring they are secure, reliable, scalable, and aligned with business and strategic objectives. This role plays a critical leadership function in driving cloud adoption, modernisation initiatives, operational excellence, and financial management across cloud environments. The successful applicant will provide leadership and oversight of cloud operations, architecture, governance, and service delivery activities while fostering a high-performing and collaborative team culture. The role will work closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, vendors, and senior executives to ensure cloud capabilities support the evolving needs of Parliament and DPS. The Cloud Services, Assistant Director will contribute to strategic planning, technology roadmaps, service improvement initiatives, and organisational transformation programs. The position requires sound judgement, strong leadership capability, and the ability to manage complex operational and strategic priorities within a highly regulated government environment. This role is responsible for managing cloud service performance, security, risk, compliance, vendor relationships, and cloud financial operations (FinOps) to ensure DPS derives maximum value from its technology investments while maintaining compliance with relevant government frameworks and standards.
