This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping procurement strategy, driving value-for-money outcomes, and working across high-value, complex categories in a dynamic public sector environment. The Role As a Category Manager, you will lead the strategic planning, sourcing, and management of procurement categories , ensuring alignment with organisational objectives and NSW Government procurement frameworks. You will work closely with stakeholders to deliver commercially sound, compliant, and sustainable procurement outcomes while contributing to a significant transformation program. Key Responsibilities • Develop and execute category management strategies to optimise value • Lead end-to-end sourcing activities across high-value procurement categories • Provide commercial and strategic advice to senior stakeholders • Manage supplier relationships, performance, and contract delivery • Lead complex negotiations and procurement processes • Identify and mitigate procurement risks • Ensure compliance, governance, and audit readiness across all activities About You • Strong experience in procurement, category management, or strategic sourcing • Proven track record managing complex and high-value procurement activities • Ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders • Excellent commercial acumen, negotiation, and analytical skills • Experience within NSW Government or public sector (highly desirable) • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (preferred) Key Details Location: Parramatta HQ & Sydney Olympic Park Start: ASAP Contract: Until 31 December 2026 Hours: 40 hours per week Eligibility • Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or NZ Citizen • Ability to obtain/hold Baseline Clearance • Willing to complete National Police Check & reference checks Apply Now If you’re ready to take on a high-impact procurement role within a major transformation program , we’d love to hear from you.
