The APS 6 Governance Officer supports the delivery of governance, assurance, audit coordination, capability uplift and business planning activities across Defence Digital Group (DDG). Working within the Directorate of Risk and Assurance, the role provides governance support, coordinates stakeholder engagement, prepares reporting products and contributes to the continuous improvement of DDG governance frameworks, processes and practices. The role works across a range of governance functions and requires collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate information, monitor actions and support reporting activities and contribute to informed decision-making across DDG. About our Team The Directorate of Risk and Assurance focuses on governance activities that underpin DDG efficiency, effectiveness and control as a discrete arm of Defence business. We are a small, dedicated team providing high quality and proactive governance, assurance, audit coordination, risk and business improvement services that assist and support effective decision making by the senior leadership. We undertake regular, ongoing corporate reporting to support various Defence committees and senior leaders, and rely on each other’s knowledge, strengths and support to help achieve successful strategic outcomes for both DDG and Defence. The successful candidate will demonstrate: • Strong organisational and coordination skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver quality outcomes. • Excellent written communication skills and experience preparing reports, briefs, committee papers or corporate documentation. • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to build productive working relationships across a diverse network. • Sound judgement, analytical skills and the ability to interpret information and provide practical recommendations. • A willingness to learn new subject areas and contribute across a range of governance, assurance, planning and improvement activities. • A willingness to share knowledge and experience, contribute fresh ideas, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement that enhance team performance and organisational outcomes.
