The Role South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) is committed to improving the care provided to our patients in line with our vision of Working together to improve the health and wellbeing of our community. The main role is to ensure the laboratory meets accreditation standards, maintains clinical governance frameworks, and supports quality improvement in accordance with National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) and the Australasian Sleep Association. You will act as the coordinator for accreditation activities, audits, policy management, and documentation to ensure the sleep service delivers safe, compliant, and high-quality diagnostic testing. You will be responsible for generating the draft documents required for submission for the initial NATA accreditation of the sleep laboratory. Where you'll be working Prince of Wales Hospital and Community Health Service is a Level 6 Tertiary Referral Hospital with an inpatient bed base of 370. Each year we care for more than 70,000 patients in our Emergency Department and have around 50,000 admissions to the inpatient units. POWH offers an outpatient service and rural outreach service and provides more than 900,000 occasions of non-admitted patient care each year, including innovative virtual models of care. We have transitioned the majority of inpatient units and wards to the Acute Services Building (ASB) including a state of the art Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit. Selection Criteria • Relevant degree (science, applied science) or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer and the award. • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Sleep Laboratory Accreditation and sleep laboratory operations • Experience with clinical audits and accreditation preparation. • Demonstrated Adequate experience in the use of polysomnography software for recording, staging, scoring, and the preparation of technical summaries. • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to exercise independent professional judgement on routine matters, commensurate with years of experience. • Demonstrate a sound understanding of technology relevant to the work unit, including the use of Microsoft Office Suite, and comply with information and communications security and acceptable use policies. • Qualifications in Sleep Medicine or equivalent experience in the provision of sleep medicine. • Current First Aid Certificate or working towards obtaining.
