About the role You’ll work as a senior engineer responsible for securing IT infrastructure across a large and complex government environment. You’ll design, build and maintain PKI and Active Directory services to ensure critical systems and public data are secure. These roles are ideal for someone who wants to move beyond operational support and help shape secure, modern identity services. We’re looking for candidates who have strong knowledge across a broad range of Microsoft Technologies and have specialised skill in the following: • Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) • Windows Active Directory Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) Engineer You’ll play a key role in strengthening the security of critical government systems by managing and improving our Public Key Infrastructure (PKI). In this role, you’ll design, build and maintain certificate services that enable secure communication between systems, devices and users across a large, complex environment. You’ll help ensure systems remain secure, resilient and aligned with current security standards and best practice. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to work on high-impact security systems and contribute to the ongoing uplift and modernisation of identity and access services. Windows Active Directory Engineer You’ll be responsible for maintaining and improving our enterprise Active Directory environment, which supports critical services used by millions of Australians. In this role, you’ll design and manage core identity services, including domain services, group policy and authentication. You’ll also support the integration of on-premise and cloud identity solutions (including Entra ID and related services) as we continue to modernise our environment. This role suits someone with strong technical expertise who enjoys solving complex problems and wants to help shape secure, modern identity services on scale. • Design, build and improve secure Microsoft identity systems across a large ICT environment. • Support and maintain PKI and/or Active Directory services to ensure reliability and performance. • Investigate and resolve complex technical issues impacting critical systems. • Contribute to the delivery of system upgrades, enhancements and modernisation activities. • Strengthen security controls and ensure alignment with best practice standards. • Work with architects, cyber security and delivery teams to implement secure solutions. • Maintain technical documentation and contribute to continuous improvement. • Manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes.
