About this role

The Role Land Systems Division (LSD) within the Defence Delivery Group (DDG) is seeking Logistic Officers to support the acquisition, introduction into service, and ongoing sustainment of critical ADF equipment. The APS 5 Logistics Officer is part of a small, multidisciplinary team, providing critical logistics planning, management, governance and assurance for state-of-the-art ADF capability. Working under limited direction, responsibilities may include: • Assisting the development of strategies and plans for logistics management, and implementing plans • Assisting the development of policies, procedures and processes for logistics management • Understanding and responding to stakeholder needs, and engaging with subject matter experts to solve problems and achieve outcomes • Liaising with suppliers to manage defined priorities and provide comprehensive integrated logistics support to Defence capability • Providing input to the development of briefs and reports on project or product achievements against expected performance • Building and sustaining effective relationships, actively participating in teamwork and supporting team development. Our Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will be an experienced logistics professional who performs effectively under limited direction within a complex, integrated environment. They will demonstrate adaptability and sound judgement in responding to evolving Defence capability requirements. They bring demonstrated experience in logistics management functions, and are able to understand and apply relevant legislation, processes and policy. They will confidently interpret policy, undertake research and analysis and provide sound advice to support business objectives. Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, emotional intelligence and resilience are essential. They will build productive stakeholder relationships, manage competing priorities and exercise initiative in decision-making. Experience coordinating or supporting team members, reviewing work quality and contributing to professional development will be highly regarded. Familiarity with contemporary logistics systems and the ability to analyse and present data are important, along with a commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
