A clinician at this level will exercise professional judgement in accordance to their years of experience. They will provide high quality clinical services to eligible clients within a health promoting philosophy that incorporates assessing oral health needs, diagnosis and care planning, the provision of preventive, restorative, periodontal and palliative care and working with groups and communities to promote oral health. These services will be provided in a wide range of settings; mentoring and support will be provided dependent on individual skills and qualifications. Selection Criteria • Hold relevant registration from the Dental Board of Australia/ Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as an oral health therapist or both the registrations of dental therapist and dental hygienist. • Demonstrated clinical experience and ability to exercise professional judgment commensurate with minimum 1-2 years of experience. • Demonstrated knowledge of best practice oral health clinical care practices and infection control standards. • Demonstrated evidence of participating in oral health promotion/population health programs and an understanding of evidenced based approaches to preventing dental disease. • Highly developed interpersonal/communication skills and experience working effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team. • Demonstrated ability to contribute to and participate in quality improvement activities. • Demonstrated organisational and time management skills. • Ability and willingness to travel for work purposes. This may involve travel to various locations with the Local Health District to provide oral health outreach services to areas in need.
