About this role

The Role The APS 6 positions provide financial and procurement management support directly to key major Defence capability projects under the National Defence Strategy and more broadly across a wide variety of projects/products within the Maritime Integrated Warfare Systems (MIWS) Branch. The roles are responsible for delivering procurement and financial governance; and maintaining compliance with the Commonwealth Procurement Framework, the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 (PGPA Act), Accountable Authority Instructions and Defence policies. The roles provide specialist advice on procurement, financial management, and value-for-money considerations, while developing and maintaining policies, frameworks, systems and processes to support delivery. These roles are responsible to support budget estimates processes, prepare and review key governance documentation and work closely with internal and external stakeholders. Policy interpretation and advice is a key element of the roles and to ensure procurement and financial governance requirements are met throughout the project lifecycle. About our Team MIWS Branch under Major Surface Combatants and Combat Systems Division is an exciting and complex environment to work in, offering a rewarding career in one of the most dynamic organisations within Naval Shipbuilding and Sustainment Group. We work across both Acquisition and Sustainment environments to develop and deliver products into new shipbuilding programs and to provide update/upgrade products to the existing RAN fleet, giving staff exposure to a wide variety of high profile maritime projects.
