About this role

Our client is seeking an experienced Procurement Officer to join their team on a full-time contract through to June 2027. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in supporting operations by ensuring the efficient procurement and supply of goods and services, helping deliver essential projects and services on time and within budget. About the Role • Manage procurement activities in line with policies, procedures and legislative requirements. • Coordinate inventory management and biannual stocktakes using the TechOne system. • Liaise with procurement organisations and suppliers to achieve cost savings, sustainability outcomes and reduced procurement risk. • Deliver procurement training and guidance to staff. • Support continuous improvement initiatives across procurement and stores functions. • Ensure depots and stores operate safely and efficiently. • Maintain adequate stock levels to support operations, including emergency and disaster response activities. • Promote values and best-practice procurement across the organisation. About You • Certificate IV in Procurement (or equivalent) or a minimum of 4 years' experience in a similar procurement environment. • Current Class C Driver Licence. • Experience in procurement, purchasing, inventory management or stores operations. • Strong understanding of procurement policies, compliance and risk management. • Experience delivering training, guidance and support to stakeholders. • Ability to drive process improvements and work effectively in a busy operational environment. • Knowledge of Local Government procurement and tendering processes will be highly regarded. • Experience with budget administration, commercial purchasing or plant disposal practices is desirable.
