About this role

The Role The Product Manager (PdM) CJC10 reports to the Integrated Product Manager (IPdM) CJC10 and is responsible for sustainment of the Defence High Frequency Communication System (DHFCS) under the CJC10 Support and Legacy Software Support Contracts. Operating under broad direction, the role manages and assures delivery of sustainment services, including both Recurring and Ad Hoc activities, ensuring alignment with contractual, technical, and operational requirements. This includes oversight of contractor performance, risk management and validation of service outcomes to maintain system availability and reliability. The PdM CJC10 engages regularly with Capability Management Representatives (CMR), other Defence stakeholders, and Industry Partners to resolve complex issues, coordinate priorities, and ensure effective service delivery. Through disciplined governance and stakeholder coordination, the role ensures DHFCS remains a resilient and operationally effective capability supporting Australian Defence Force (ADF) communications requirements. This position may involve some interstate travel. About our Team The CJC10 Integrated Product Management Team (IPdMT) operates within a dynamic and complex sustainment environment, focused on delivering reliable and secure communications capability to the ADF. The team is responsible for the ongoing support, performance, and enhancement of the DHFCS, working across both legacy and current system elements. The team comprises a mix of Australian Public Service (APS) and ADF personnel, as well as Contractors to Defence, all collaborating closely to manage sustainment activities, resolve technical challenges, and assure service delivery outcomes. It maintains strong linkages with CMRs and other Defence stakeholders to ensure alignment between operational needs and sustainment priorities. The work environment is fast-paced and outcome-driven, requiring disciplined governance, clear communication, and a proactive approach to issue resolution, continuous improvement, and capability sustainment. They possess well-developed stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to negotiate and influence across Defence and Industry to resolve complex issues and achieve business objectives. The candidate builds and sustains effective working relationships, contributing to cohesive and outcome-focused teams. They translate and implement administrative, operational, contractual, technical, and resource requirements into practical product management activities, while sharing expertise, mentoring others, and supporting the development of less experienced personnel.
