Play a key role in shaping sustainable land use outcomes that support Aboriginal communities throughout the Northern Territory. The Northern Land Council (NLC) is seeking a capable and motivated Project Coordinator to join our Regional Development team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced project professional who enjoys stakeholder engagement, coordination and working collaboratively to deliver meaningful outcomes for Traditional Owners and Aboriginal communities. Working across a diverse portfolio of land use matters, you'll coordinate projects that support sustainable development opportunities on Aboriginal land, facilitate consultation processes and help ensure the interests of Traditional Owners remain at the centre of decision-making. As a Project Coordinator, you'll play a key role in managing and progressing land use projects under the Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Act 1976 (ALRA). Working closely with Traditional Owners, Aboriginal communities, government agencies, industry proponents and internal specialist teams, you'll help coordinate land use proposals from initial assessment through to consultation, negotiation and agreement administration. You'll have the opportunity to: • Coordinate Expressions of Interest and land use projects on Aboriginal land. • Work collaboratively with Legal, Anthropology, GIS and Regional teams to progress projects and assessments. • Facilitate consultations and negotiations between Traditional Owners, Aboriginal groups and external proponents. • Coordinate meetings, travel, accommodation and event logistics associated with project delivery. • Monitor project budgets, cost recovery activities and reporting requirements. • Prepare high-quality reports, submissions, briefings and project documentation. • Travel to regional and remote communities across the NLC region to support consultation and engagement activities.
