Protective Security Advisor

About this role

​​The Protective Security Advisor (APS5) supports the delivery of protective security services across the Australian Digital Health Agency, helping to manage security risks, maintain compliance with the Protective Security Policy Framework, and protect the Agency's people, information and assets. Working closely with the Senior Security Advisor, the role provides security advice, coordinates security-related activities, supports policy and compliance initiatives, manages security enquiries and incidents, and contributes to security awareness programs.​ • Support the implementation and ongoing management of the Agency's protective security framework in accordance with the PSPF, relevant legislation and regulatory requirements, including contributing to security plans, policies, procedures, compliance programs, quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives. • ​Assist in identifying, assessing and monitoring security risks, threats and vulnerabilities through research, analysis and risk management activities, including contributing to risk assessments, security control evaluations and recommendations for mitigation and improvement. • ​Coordinate and support the management of security incidents, investigations and reviews, including documentation, reporting, analysis, follow-up actions and escalation of complex or sensitive matters as required. • ​Prepare reports, briefings, submissions, correspondence, risk assessments and other security-related documentation to support decision-making, compliance, assurance and strategic planning activities. • ​Deliver operational and administrative support across personnel, physical, information and protective security functions, including security clearances, aftercare arrangements, security enquiries, maintenance of registers and records, security inbox management, and monitoring of compliance obligations. • ​Support the delivery of security awareness training, education and communication initiatives and provide advice on emerging security risks, trends and issues to support informed decision-making. • ​Support the development and maintenance of effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, law enforcement, intelligence partners, emergency services, SCEC-endorsed consultants, security providers and contractors, to achieve protective security outcomes under the direction of the APS6 Senior Security Advisor. • ​Participate in the Facilities and Security on-call roster and undertake additional reasonable duties within their capabilities and level of responsibility to meet operational requirements and contribute to team outcomes.​
