Employment Type : Temporary Part Time Remuneration : As per State Award Hours Per Week : 4 (0.1 FTE) Requisition ID : CAM30470 Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) is seeking a Provisional Fellow in Cardiac Imaging to join the Cardiac Cross-Sectional Imaging Service at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPA). Where you'll be working RPA is one of Australia’s premier tertiary referral hospitals and is recognised as a world-class leader in healthcare excellence and innovation. It is the principal teaching hospital of the University of Sydney and provides a comprehensive range of diagnostic and interventional services to patients from across NSW and Australia. The Cardiac Cross-Sectional Imaging Service is jointly delivered by the Departments of Cardiology and Radiology. It provides cardiac MRI and cardiac CT imaging across a broad range of clinical indications and supports both inpatient and outpatient services. What you'll be doing This 0.1 FTE position primarily supports the Friday morning MRI service for patients with implantable cardiac devices, including pacemakers and implantable cardioverter-defibrillators. The position comprises one half-day Cardiac MRI session each Friday. During this session, the Fellow will support MRI examinations in patients with implantable cardiac devices, including pacemakers and implantable cardioverter-defibrillators, The role will involve: One half-day per week of Cardiac MRI. • Clinical assessment, preparation and medical supervision of patients with pacemakers, defibrillators and other implantable cardiac devices undergoing MRI. • Supervised interpretation and reporting of cardiac MRI examinations. • Review of relevant clinical information and prior imaging before each examination. • Liaison with radiographers, cardiac device staff, cardiologists, radiologists and referring clinical teams. • Timely communication of important imaging findings. • Contribution to the safe, efficient and patient-centred operation of the Friday Cardiac MRI service. The Fellow will work under the supervision of experienced cardiologists and radiologists with advanced accreditation in cardiac MRI. The position provides an opportunity to maintain and further develop cardiac MRI interpretation and reporting skills, but it is not intended to provide the breadth or training volume of a comprehensive Cardiac Imaging Fellowship.
