About this role

The Role The Royal Australian Navy Tactical Electronic Warfare Support Section (RANTEWSS) Quality Assurance Officer (Intelligence Oversight Officer) performs a fundamental role in the command and management structure within RANTEWSS. Their primary function serves to provide command with assurance of the units’ adherence to relevant legislative and compliance frameworks both within the Australian Defence Force and across the National Intelligence Community. They will undertake specialist research and analysis concerning unit operations, conduct reviews and ensure compliance. They will work with all unit personnel to review and develop the quality of intelligence-related work and identify opportunities for training and development through liaising with both internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, the position will be required to perform research and development of unit-related processes in support of future developments and policy adherence. The individual must have the ability to obtain and hold a Positive Vetting clearance and an Organisational Suitability Assessment. About our Team The Royal Australian Navy Tactical Electronic Warfare Support Section (RANTEWSS) was formed in 1982 to meet a growing requirement to provide electronic warfare support. Located at HMAS Albatross, RANTEWSS provides specialised support in electronic warfare, mission analysis, specialised to the Royal Australian Navy. The unit comprises of both uniformed and APS staff, striving to provide effective and timely intelligence outcomes at sea. Our Ideal Candidate The Quality Assurance Officer (Intelligence Oversight Officer) is a self-starting individual comfortable working in high-tempo environments. This person has a driven ability to work with complex, multi-faceted problems and provide solutions with minimal supervision. Noting the operating environment, the ideal person possesses the ability to understand and apply legislative and compliance frameworks whilst being cognisant of security requirements. Our ideal candidate will have experience working in a navy cryptologic unit and has experience and demonstrated performance in an Intelligence Oversight Officer role.
