About this role

This role assists the Radar network manager in the oversight of the Bureau's weather radar and Wind Profiler networks; a group of critical assets located across Australia. Effective lifecycle management of Radar assets is a primary objective this role supports. This is critical to provision of reliable weather radar information to the Australian community and key users. Key duties will include analysis and reporting on Radar asset performance, improving Radar asset information in the Bureau's Enterprise Asset Management Systems (EAMS). This includes implementing maintenance regimes in EAMS to facilitate effective tracking and improvement of Radar maintenance by in field technicians. The role will also liaise regularly with Radar field staff around the country to collect learnings and assist in driving a nationally consistent approach to Radar maintenance. It will also coordinate activities across engineering and field teams such as implementation of software changes across the network. The role will also assist the manager as required with management of risk and budgets, and development of asset renewal plans and project proposals. The ideal candidate has a background in support of Radar or similar technical systems, and skills or experience in asset management. They are process-oriented, thorough and a self-starter working with minimal supervision; able to coordinate across to achieve results. They have good communication skills and ability in technical document writing. The responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to: • Support improvement of Radar asset information in EAMS, including equipment hierarchies and metadata. Drive development of Standard Job documents for equipment maintenance, implement maintenance jobs and inspection forms in EAMS and monitor effectiveness. • Prepare reports on network performance and maintenance. Conduct performance analysis to identify trends and inform proactive improvements. Respond to relevant information requests relating to the network. • Contribute to the development of Asset Management Plans and Integrated Logistics Support Instructions for the radar and wind profiler and support implementation of the plans. • Coordinate operational activities for the Radar network including implementation of change requests for software updates. Oversee logistical support and spares including monitoring and release of controlled stock, in collaboration with purchasing support teams. • Develop national processes and procedural documentation as required in liaison with stakeholders. • Assist in the management of safety, environmental and operational risks and budgets. Contribute to equipment safety working groups for radar and profiler related equipment. Manage contract and service agreements and ensure compliance. • Support the handover of new equipment types and installations from projects including configuration audit and review of technical documentation and drawings. • Liaise with key internal stakeholders regarding requirements and standards, performance issues and future demand. • Complying with all Bureau work, health and safety policies and procedures, and taking reasonable care for your own health and safety and that of employees, contractors and visitors who may be affected by your conduct.
