About this role

Role purpose The Museum has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual looking to develop their collection management skills in a busy museum environment. The successful candidate will work in the Registration team to support static and travelling exhibitions as well as loans, collection storage, collection access, conservation and digitisation programs. Key accountabilities Registration Assistants undertake collection transport, auditing, loans administration, storage maintenance, packing, crating, internal object movements, documentation, exhibition development, installation and deinstallation activities and contribute to other organisational priorities as required. They also take the initiative to proactively contribute to the improvement and modernisation of processes and procedures and coordinate established work programs. The roles work across the wider Registration and Conservation team, division and organisation to deliver team and Museum-wide priorities, maintaining high standards of collection care, access, and accountability. Demonstrate a strong commitment to Work Health and Safety (WH&S) by actively supporting a positive safety culture, following the Museum’s WHS policies and procedures, and complying with reasonable instructions to ensure alignment with the Work Health and Safety Act 2011.
