About the role We're currently seeking an experienced Road Worker / MR Truck Driver to join a leading State Government organisation on a full-time temporary assignment based in Balranald, NSW. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in road maintenance, civil construction or labouring who enjoys working outdoors as part of a close-knit team. The role involves a combination of road maintenance activities and operating an MR truck to transport crew members, equipment and materials. This is an immediate start offering full-time hours, working a 9-day fortnight (76 hours per fortnight). Duties • Carry out routine road maintenance and repair works. • Operate an MR truck for daily inspections and transport crew members, equipment and materials. • Complete road pavement repairs, pothole patching and shoulder maintenance. • Install, repair and maintain road signs, guideposts and guardrails. • Assist with traffic control activities and maintain safe work zones. • Respond to emergency call-outs as required. • Undertake rubbish collection and general roadside maintenance. • Safely operate hand tools, power tools and small plant. Skills and Experience • Previous experience in road maintenance, civil construction, labouring or a similar outdoor role. • Current MR Driver Licence or higher. • Construction White Card (essential). • Current Traffic Control ticket and Work on Foot (WOF) ticket, or willingness to obtain prior to commencement. • Ability to undertake physically demanding work in varying weather conditions. • Ability to pass a National Police Check.
