About the s26 Permanent/Temporary Employment Register The s26 register is open for candidates to register a general expression of interest for employment with Safe Work Australia. We are seeking existing ongoing APS employees who are appropriately skilled and experienced for positions on a permanent or temporary transfer dependent on business requirements. • Promotion under the Public Service Act 1999 is not possible through this recruitment register. • You will only be contacted regarding your application if an opportunity arises that matches your skills and experience. • Your application is not a guarantee that an offer of employment will be made. • Applications remain active until 30 June 2027. Applications are not carried over after this time, you will be required to submit a new application for the 2027-2028 Section 26 Temporary/Permanent Employment Register. The Agency Groups Various roles may be available within the Agency's two Groups: the Policy & Engagement Group and the Corporate Group. The Policy & Engagement Group is responsible for coordinating and developing national policies in relation to WHS and workers' compensation matters, such as supporting implementation of the model WHS legislation and reform of the legislative framework and providing policy advice on the model WHS laws in relation to high-risk workplaces, hazardous chemicals and occupational diseases. The Corporate Group is responsible for end-to-end service delivery on a number of enabling functions including human resources, security, fraud, risk, integrity, finance, procurement, communications, as well as providing expert advice on data improvement and research strategy.
