The Section 26 (S26) Transfer Register The Torres Strait Regional Authority invites ongoing (permanent) APS employees to express interest to employment opportunities via our Section 26 (26) Transfer Register. This register is open to APS employees interested in temporary or permanent roles within the Agency. The S26 Transfer Register enables the TSRA to access a diverse pool of APS talent to fill both ongoing and non-ongoing vacancies aligned with our strategic priorities. It offers candidates the chance to contribute to meaningful work in a fast-paced dynamic environment. By registering, candidates may be considered for: • Temporary or permanent transfers at their current classification • Temporary or permanent transfers at a lower classification • Temporary transfers at their current classification with a Higher Duties arrangement. About Us Established in 1994, the Torres Strait Regional Authority (TSRA) is one of the most remote Australian Public Service (APS) agencies located in the nation’s remote far north. We support programs across the Torres Strait region, including the 17 inhabited islands of the Torres Strait and communities of Bamaga and Seisia on the Northern Peninsula Area (NPA) on the mainland. TSRA is a statutory body and the lead Commonwealth agency in the Torres Strait for Indigenous Affairs, operating under the direction of a community-elected board. We are one of the region’s largest employers with 3 offices on Thursday Island and 15 ranger sites, supported by a small office in Cairns. Our team of 150+ staff includes a strong local workforce with 84% of staff identifying as Torres Strait Islander and Aboriginal.
