About the role The corruption prevention function, within the Commission’s Prevention and International team, plays a critical role in identifying corruption risks, analysing trends and emerging issues, and developing evidence-based advice and prevention strategies. The team works across the Commission and with external stakeholders to strengthen integrity systems and promote corruption prevention across the Commonwealth public sector. As a Senior Corruption Prevention Officer, you will contribute to the Commission’s corruption prevention activity through research, analysis and the development of high-quality written products. You will examine corruption risks, systemic vulnerabilities and emerging integrity issues, identify lessons from investigations and other sources, and develop practical recommendations to strengthen corruption prevention frameworks and practices. You will work closely with investigators, intelligence officers, subject matter experts and Commonwealth entities to translate complex information into clear, actionable advice for a range of audiences. Your work will support the Commission’s strategic priorities and contribute to improving integrity and corruption prevention outcomes across the Commonwealth public sector. This role requires strong analytical, research and writing skills, sound judgement, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment. Key Activities include: • Analyse investigation outcomes, intelligence holdings, data, and other information sources, and conduct environmental scans to identify corruption risks, systemic vulnerabilities and emerging integrity issues. • Develop evidence-based corruption prevention observations, findings and recommendations for internal and external audiences. • Conduct research and analysis on corruption prevention trends, integrity risk, legislative developments and better practice approaches within Australia and internationally. • Prepare high-quality reports, briefings, submissions, correspondence and other written products that support corruption prevention outcomes. • Contribute to the development of corruption prevention advice, guidance and resources for Commonwealth entities. • Identify and communicate lessons learned from investigations and other Commission activities to support continuous improvement across the public sector. • Monitor emerging corruption risks and integrity trends and provide timely advice on their implications for the Commission and Commonwealth entities. • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to gather information, test findings and support the implementation of corruption prevention initiatives. • Provide strategic and operational support to the Assistant Director and contribute to broader team and Commission priorities as required. The NACC is a small agency. In addition to these activities, from time to time you may be asked to undertake tasks that are outside your usual span of duties but that are within the range of your capabilities.
