As a Senior Specialist, you will provide leadership and technical expertise to supervise systemically important financial market infrastructure operating in Australia. This is an opportunity to influence regulatory outcomes, strengthen organisational capability and support the resilience and integrity of Australia's financial system. • Sydney or Melbourne location • Salary between $170,621 - $202,614 (plus 15.4% superannuation) • Permanent • Applications close at 11:59pm AEST, 28 July 2026 The team ASIC's Markets Group safeguards trust and confidence in Australia's financial markets through supervision, regulatory engagement and risk-based oversight. Within the Group, the Market Infrastructure team oversees some of Australia's most critical financial market infrastructure, including clearing and settlement facilities and market operators. Through supervision, stakeholder engagement, policy development and strategic projects, the team helps strengthen the resilience, integrity and efficiency of Australia's financial markets. The role As a Senior Specialist, you will provide strategic advice, technical expertise and leadership within a multidisciplinary supervision team. Working closely with industry stakeholders, regulated entities and regulatory counterparts, you will contribute to a proactive, risk-based approach to supervision and help identify and respond to current and emerging risks across Australia's financial markets. Key responsibilities include: • Providing strategic analysis and advice on highly complex regulatory matters and developing solutions to significant regulatory issues. • Managing and coordinating supervisory work, providing strategic direction, industry knowledge and technical expertise across ASIC's regulatory activities. • Contributing to ASIC-wide policy, strategy and regulatory initiatives relating to financial market infrastructure supervision. • Developing and implementing risk-based supervision programs that are proactive, judgement-led and outcomes-focused. • Building and maintaining effective relationships with regulated entities, industry stakeholders and domestic and international regulatory bodies. • Leading assessments of governance arrangements, risk management frameworks, accountability structures and operational resilience. • Leading, coaching and developing team members, fostering a high-performing team culture and supporting the ongoing growth and capability of the team. About you You bring deep expertise in clearing and settlement facilities and a strong understanding of the regulatory frameworks, risks, governance arrangements and operational resilience considerations that underpin this critical part of Australia's financial market infrastructure. You have experience applying this expertise to the regulation of financial market infrastructure or a related environment and can provide trusted advice on complex issues, exercise sound judgement and contribute to effective regulatory outcomes. You are also a strong strategic thinker with highly developed analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills. You are an accomplished people leader who enjoys developing others and building capability within specialist teams. You communicate with credibility and influence, build trusted relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders and can confidently lead through complexity and change.
