We are seeking an experienced Technical and Development Lead to join the Web and Digital Services section. If you enjoy solving tricky problems, love writing good code, are very experienced developing in Drupal and GovCMS, work well with people and have a passion for designing and building effective digital products for the Australian Government, we want to hear from you. As the EL1 Technical and Development Lead, you will be responsible for the technical direction of DSS digital projects. You will ensure the delivery and maintenance of secure, accessible, and high-performing solutions aligned with Australian Government standards. This includes leading the development and maintenance of websites across multiple platforms, overseeing technical architecture and integration, writing and performing code reviews, and providing expert advice on emerging technologies, security risks, and opportunities for improvement. You will play a key role in resolving technical issues, mentoring a small team, and fostering collaboration to build capability. The role requires strong stakeholder engagement skills. Your work will maintain effective relationships with stakeholders to ensure alignment with departmental objectives and policy outcomes. You don’t need to be in Canberra. We’re building the best team we can from across the country. • lead the development and maintenance of websites across multiple platforms ensuring alignment to Australian Government standards and accessibility requirements • oversee technical architecture, integration, and performance optimisation across multiple projects • provide advice on emerging technologies, potential security risks, and opportunities for innovation • identify and resolve technical issues promptly, providing effective solutions and advice to ensure continuity of services • manage and mentor a small team, fostering collaboration and capability development • ensure compliance with organisational policies, accessibility standards, and cyber and security requirements • build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure collaboration, clear communication and alignment on project objectives and outcomes.
