About this role
As a Technical Security Officer at ASIS, you will be part of a specialised team who work to ensure the security of our people, assets and operations from technical threats, espionage and compromise around the world. Being at the forefront of technical and protective security for the Australian Government, you will travel overseas and conduct technical inspections and apply security mitigations at our most sensitive locations. You will have the opportunity to work alongside intelligence partners domestically and across the globe, provide advice on security best practice, and help to design and develop countermeasures and strategies to protect and support our mission. Key responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to: • Plan and undertake regular technical security inspections of ASIS locations • Liaise with officials and intelligence partners domestically and abroad • Monitor and combat security threats in rapidly evolving environments • Provide technical security awareness and advice to stakeholders • Design and build innovative solutions to protect our assets from technical compromise We encourage applicants with the following skills and attributes to apply: • Ability to travel on a regular basis • Adaptable in rapidly changing and foreign environments • Proficiency in electronics and technological disciplines • Keen observation skills and attention to detail • Analytical and investigative skills • Strong written and verbal communication skills The following education, qualifications and/or experience will be highly regarded: • Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM) qualifications or experience • Experience and proficiency in conducting technical attacks • Understanding of physical, technical and/or protective security • Experience and proficiency in electronics, computer systems or engineering • Radio frequency spectral analysis and signal identification • Electrical qualifications • Telecommunications • Experience and proficiency in construction methods and building management systems
