The Office of Australian War Graves, as the authorised agent of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission maintains War Cemeteries and individual official commemorations throughout Australia, Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands. APS 4 Trade Services Manager The Office of Australian War Graves, Trade Services Manager under the direction of the State Operations Manager the Trade Services Manager is responsible for supporting all OAWG care and maintenance activities in the State or Territory and provide specialist operational support to other OAWG Depots. This requires the programming of work for staff and contractors to carry out horticultural and structural maintenance and the management of minor projects. The OAWG assets include war cemeteries, Gardens of Remembrance, and numerous official commemorations in general cemeteries throughout Australia. The Trade Services Manager assists in the supervision of staff and contractors and provides assistance in ensuring they operate in a safe and appropriate manner and therefore must be able to demonstrate the management of multiple public horticultural facilities within Commonwealth and State legislation and regulations. The Trade Services Manager position is based at the South Australian Operations Depot, Pasadena, SA, 5042. APS 3 Trade Services Coordinator Under the direction of the State/Territory Operations Manager, the Trade Services Coordinator is responsible for supporting all OAWG care and maintenance activities and provide specialist operational support to other OAWG Depots. This requires the programming of work for staff and contractors to carry out horticultural and structural maintenance and the management of minor projects. The OAWG assets include war cemeteries, the State/Territory Garden of Remembrance, and numerous official commemorations in general cemeteries throughout the region. The Trade Services Coordinator assists in the supervision of staff and contractors and provides assistance in ensuring they operate in a safe and appropriate manner and therefore must be able to demonstrate the management of multiple public horticultural facilities within Commonwealth and State legislation and regulations. The Trade Services Coordinator position is based at the Queensland Operations Depot, Bridgeman Downs Qld, 4035. APS 4 duties: • Perform duties under limited supervision in remote locations, including working independently as directed. • Carry out/oversee a range of trade level turf management and horticultural works. • Provide appropriate guidance, support and mentoring to staff and contractors in order to achieve service delivery standards. • Operate plant, machinery and vehicles. • Carry out/oversee structural works such as minor landscape construction, stonemasonry, concreting and memorial maintenance tasks. • Operate and maintain Information, communication and technology (ICT) devices and relevant systems for recording and controlling data and information. • Contribute to the planning, allocation and monitoring of team tasks and motivation the overall workforce including contractors. • Implement and monitor Work Health and Safety policies and procedures. • Provide support to the State Operations Manager in the administration of the work program and supervision of staff and contractors. • Provide point of contact for enquiries from the general public, ex-service organisations, contractors and cemetery authorities. APS 3 duties: • Undertake a range of trade level horticultural works including but not limited to turf and horticulture maintenance including cultivation, pruning, recognising and treating plant diseases and pests • Perform duties under limited supervision in remote locations, including working independently as directed. • Provide appropriate guidance, support and mentoring to staff and contractors in order to achieve service delivery standards • Operate plant, machinery and vehicles • Carry out/oversee structural works such as minor landscape construction, stonemasonry, concreting and memorial maintenance tasks • Operate and maintain necessary systems for recording and controlling computer data input into software systems • Contribute to the planning, allocation and monitoring of team tasks and motivation of the overall workforce including contractors • Implement, monitor and adhere to all Work Health and Safety policies and procedures • Provide support to the State Operations Manager and Deputy Operations Manager in the administration of the work program • Provide point of contact for enquiries from the general public, ex-service organisation, contractors and cemetery authorities.
