About this role

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Procurement Support Officer to join a Queensland Government organisation in Mackay. This role is responsible for delivering procurement and contract support services to operational teams while promoting procurement best practice and ensuring value-for-money outcomes. Key Responsibilities • Provide high-quality customer service and act as a key point of contact for procurement-related enquiries, procedures, guidelines and documentation. • Deliver purchasing, procurement, administrative and contract management support to staff and stakeholders. • Process purchase orders, work orders, field release orders and other procurement transactions. • Assist with the development, implementation and review of procurement procedures, guidelines and standard documentation. • Maintain document control processes in conjunction with Quality Assurance requirements. • Undertake procurement-related projects, including research, analysis and reporting. • Support the development and delivery of procurement training, inductions and contractor engagement activities. • Coordinate contractor meetings, prepare minutes and assist with training material development. • Maintain knowledge of procurement legislation, policies and departmental requirements. • Promote procurement as a key business function across the organisation. • Contribute positively to team culture and demonstrate professionalism at all times. About You To be successful in this role, you will have: • Previous experience in procurement, purchasing, contract administration or a similar support role. • Strong administrative and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail. • Experience processing purchase orders and managing procurement documentation. • Well-developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills. • The ability to work across multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs. • Experience within a government environment will be highly regarded.
