Ready to lead meaningful building and infrastructure projects from concept through to completion? We're seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join a high-performing department of Queensland State Government. The team are delivering a diverse portfolio of building construction, refurbishment and upgrade projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced client-side Project Manager looking to lead complex projects while working closely with consultants, contractors and key stakeholders. About the Role You'll take ownership of multiple capital works projects, managing the full project lifecycle from planning and procurement through to construction, commissioning and handover. Working across a varied portfolio, you'll provide expert project leadership while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to a high standard. Key Responsibilities • Manage building construction, refurbishment and capital works projects from initiation through to completion. • Prepare project management plans, project briefs, procurement strategies and tender documentation. • Coordinate and manage consultants, contractors and project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. • Administer Design & Construct and Traditional construction contracts. • Monitor project scope, budget, program, quality, risk and commercial performance. • Lead procurement activities including tender evaluations and contractor engagement. • Act as the client representative throughout project delivery, ensuring governance and contractual compliance. • Prepare reports, project updates and recommendations for senior stakeholders. • Oversee commissioning, defects management, practical completion and project handover. • Mentor and support project teams while driving continuous improvement across project delivery. About You You'll bring proven experience delivering building construction or capital works projects within government, consultancy, construction or client-side project management environments. You'll also have: • Demonstrated experience managing building construction or refurbishment projects. • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and construction delivery. • Experience managing consultants, contractors and multidisciplinary project teams. • Sound understanding of procurement, tendering and contract administration. • Knowledge of Design & Construct and Traditional contract delivery models. • Strong stakeholder management, negotiation and communication skills. • Experience managing project budgets, risk, quality and reporting. • Qualifications in Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering, Architecture or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
