We are seeking an experienced Finance Officer to provide high-quality financial administration, accounts payable and procurement support within a busy corporate services team. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the delivery of essential finance services while building your experience in Commonwealth Government financial operations. About the Role As a Finance Officer, you will provide professional financial and administrative support across accounts payable, corporate credit card administration, procurement and contract administration. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure financial transactions are processed accurately, efficiently and in accordance with relevant legislation and organisational policies. This role suits someone who enjoys problem solving, values attention to detail and is committed to delivering outstanding customer service. Key Responsibilities • Process accounts payable invoices accurately and within required timeframes. • Maintain vendor records and ensure financial information is complete and accurate. • Administer the organisation's corporate credit card program, including providing guidance and training to staff. • Assist with procurement activities, including preparation of approval documentation, approach-to-market documentation and contract administration. • Create purchase orders and maintain procurement records within financial management systems. • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of finance policies, procedures and documentation. • Build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders while providing responsive financial advice and support. • Undertake research, data analysis and reporting to support finance operations. • Participate in team projects and provide assistance across the broader finance function as required. About You To be successful, you will demonstrate: • Experience in accounts payable, finance administration or procurement support. • Strong customer service and stakeholder engagement skills. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving abilities. • High attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities. • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. • Proficiency using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word. • Experience working with enterprise finance or procurement systems will be highly regarded. Essential RequirementsApplicants must: • Be an Australian Citizen. • Be able to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance. • Successfully complete pre-employment screening, including identity verification. Desirable Experience • Understanding of Commonwealth Government procurement processes or the ability to quickly acquire this knowledge. • Experience using enterprise finance and procurement systems.
