About this role

DFP Recruitment is seeking an experienced Freedom of Information (FOI) Officer to join a South Australian Government agency based in the Adelaide CBD. This is an initial 3-month contract with the potential for extension for the right candidate. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing and processing Freedom of Information requests, conducting research, retrieving and reviewing records, preparing determinations, and providing advice to internal and external stakeholders in accordance with relevant legislation. Key Responsibilities • Process Freedom of Information requests in line with legislative requirements. • Research, locate and assess a range of records and information sources. • Prepare high-quality determinations, correspondence and reports. • Liaise with internal stakeholders, government agencies, solicitors and members of the public. • Maintain accurate records, databases and filing systems. • Provide advice on FOI legislation, policies and procedures. • Manage competing priorities while ensuring strict deadlines are met. About You To be successful, you will demonstrate: • Experience interpreting and applying legislation, policies or regulatory requirements. • Strong written communication skills and attention to detail. • The ability to analyse information and make sound decisions. • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a high-volume workload. • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills. • High levels of professionalism, integrity and confidentiality. Previous experience in Freedom of Information, information release, records management, legal, compliance, governance, or government administration will be highly regarded.
