• 6 + 3-month contract - August Start • Baseline Security Clearance required • Perth, Canberra or Remote Work Available • EL1 equivalent | Weekly Pay + Flexible Rates | CRIS | Cost Recovery Analyst Our client, and Australian Government agency who support the effective regulation and development of Australia's offshore energy resources requires an experienced Cost Recovery Expert. Duties of the Cost Recovery Expert • Develop a robust and fit-for-purpose methodology consistent with the Australian Government Cost Recovery Policy; • Undertake detailed analysis of cost recovery frameworks; • Assess whether existing levies, fees and cost allocation approaches are appropriate and aligned to regulatory effort; • Identify inefficiencies, cost pressures, or cross-subsidisation issues; • Provide evidence-based findings and recommendations to support the statutory reviews. Skills and Experience Required • Experience undertaking public sector cost recovery analysis, including Cost Recovery Implementation Statements (CRIS); • Knowledge of fee and levy models, charging structures, cost allocation, and financial sustainability; • Ability to assess cost recovery performance, cost drivers, and minimum efficient cost bases; • Familiarity with government cost recovery frameworks and better-practice principles; • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into clear, evidence-based recommendations; • Experience in government or regulatory environments; • Relevant qualifications and experience in finance, economics, policy, regulation, or a related field.
