Job Description An opportunity exists for an experienced Cyber Security Architect to support the Australian Federal Police in designing, reviewing, testing and assuring secure technology environments, solution designs and solution implementations. Working within a large and complex technology environment, you will contribute to security architecture, governance, policy development and secure-by-design initiatives while supporting transformation programs across the organisation. Duties and Responsibilities • Design optimal security solutions for large and complex transformation programs. • Provide guidance to project teams and system owners to achieve necessary security endorsements and approvals. • Produce security architecture documentation and support approvals through technical governance forums. • Provide expert cyber security advice to business units across the organisation. • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across the AFP and external organisations. • Anticipate, communicate, investigate and resolve security and technology-related issues. • Maintain current knowledge of information technology processes and emerging security practices. • Establish and maintain effective professional networks and business relationships. • Contribute to and implement improved ICT practices and procedures. • Provide mentoring, coaching and training to team members. • Work effectively within small teams and broader organisational environments. • Ensure work is delivered accurately, within agreed timeframes and quality standards. • Maintain records and information in accordance with organisational requirements. Education/Certifications required • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Cyber Security or a related discipline are highly regarded. • Relevant industry certifications in cyber security, architecture or cloud security are desirable. Knowledge/Skills required • Enterprise security architecture and secure-by-design principles. • Network security architecture. • Cloud and hybrid security architecture. • Security monitoring and observability architecture. • Security assurance, risk and compliance architecture. • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills. • Experience delivering security outcomes within large and complex ICT environments. • Ability to produce high-quality architecture and governance documentation. • Mentoring and leadership capability within technical teams.
