• Long term contract supporting national cyber security initiatives! • Flexible hybrid working arrangements - Canberra based • Rewarding hourly rates $$$ A highly regarded Federal Government department is seeking to engage Cyber Security Operations Specialists / SOC Analyst to support its Cyber Security uplift Stream on a department wide ICT modernisation. You will play a key role in strengthening security monitoring capabilities, optimising SIEM performance, and enhancing visibility across enterprise systems in a complex, high-security environment. The successful Cyber Security Operations Specialists / SOC Analyst will be offered a contract on a newly established ICT modernisation program. The successful Cyber Security Operations Specialists / SOC Analyst will be responsible for, but not limited to: • Monitor, maintain, and optimise SIEM platforms, including log ingestion, dashboards, alerts, and correlation rules • Investigate and triage security events, providing analysis and remediation recommendations across a multi-technology environment • Enhance detection and response capabilities through threat hunting, automation (SOAR), and playbook development • Identify anomalous behaviour (including UEBA) and support incident response activities with key stakeholders • Contribute to reporting, continuous improvement, and the development of SOPs for cyber incident response The successful Cyber Security Operations Specialists / SOC Analyst will have experience in the following: • 2+ years’ experience in SOC or security operations roles • Ability to analyse logs in complex ICT environments and respond effectively to security alerts • Working knowledge of SIEM, SOAR, and related monitoring technologies • Understanding of cyber-attack tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), with the ability to identify them in a SOC setting • Strong communication skills, with exposure to developing dashboards, reports, and response playbooks This is a great opportunity with a leading Federal Government Agency to join a highly skilled team!
