About the company: Our client is a large government department tasked with improving the lives of Australians. Our client is looking for experienced APS6 Policy Officer, and an EL1 Assistant Director of Policy for a 12-month casual temporary assignment, with the potential for further extension. About the APS6 role: • Implementation and delivery of new government policy initiatives • Translating policy into practical, effective and sustainable outcomes • Planning, coordination and execution of complex policy reform projects • Preparation of advice to senior leaders on implementation risks, delivery challenges and reform priorities • Engagement and negotiation with various stakeholders both internal and external • Coordinator stakeholder processes and activities About the EL1 role: • Leading the implementation of the new government policy initiatives • Drive the planning, coordination and execution of the complex policy reform projects • Provide strategic advice to senior stakeholders • Lead engagement and negotiations with stakeholders - both internal and external • Lead and manage a small team, delegate duties and workload accordingly. About you: • You will have proven experience leading implementation and delivery of new policy initiatives • You will have proven experience working across government - local, state or federal • You will have a strong understanding of Commonwealth government policy and governance, and how this relates to policy implementation and delivery • You will ideally have experience working in a government project or program environment • You will have excellent communication skills both written and verbal • You will have strong stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to communicate at all levels of the organisation. • At EL1 level, you will have experience in leading and managing teams. Benefits: • ASAP start • 1years casual temporary assignment, with potential for further extension • Full-time hours Monday to Friday - 7.5 hours per day, generally between the hours of 8.30am and 5.00pm. • Locations considered - Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Hobart • $67.24 - $92.89 per hour + super *** Please note the successful candidate for the role must hold Australian Citizenship. You will also be required to complete a Federal Police Check, as well as a Working with Children Check ***
