The Opportunity At HorizonOne, we often have access to opportunities that don’t appear on traditional job boards. Through our well-established networks, we regularly facilitate placements for EL1 Communication Manager roles across both labour hire and non-ongoing contracts. These contracts can range from short-term (around 3 months) through to longer-term (12 months+) . It’s also very common for high-performing candidates to receive contract extensions or even transition into permanent roles within the APS. With new positions regularly coming through, we are currently seeking expressions of interest from experienced and suitably qualified candidates. HorizonOne also supports permanent APS staff with s 26 temporary and permanent transfers between federal government agencies and departments. The Role The responsibilities of each position vary, but as an EL1 Communications Manager you will be required to: • Develop and implement communications and engagement strategies • Support policy and program areas by providing strategic advice and developing promotional communications collateral to drive awareness around departmental initiatives • Engage and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders • Develop newsletters, articles, and content for internet/intranet and social media platforms • Lead a small team The Ideal Person To be considered for an EL1 Communications Manager opportunity you’ll have experience at this level, within the APS or state government, with a qualification in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or Marketing . You will have the ability to work in time sensitive environments and build productive and collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and be flexible in responding to changing priorities. Australian citizenship and a minimum baseline security clearance are required to apply.
