The Opportunity There is an EL1 Procurement Advisor position available on a 3-6 month labour hire contract, starting ASAP. You’ll join the central procurement team; a team of 5 staff that focus on managing and advising on non-ICT procurement and contract management activities for the agency. You’ll report to a newly appointed EL2 Director and managing two staff (1 x APS2 and 1 x APS6). The team uses TechOne and a Procure to Pay system. You’ll enjoy the flexibility of working from home 2-3 days per week with the remainder of the week attending the office located in North Canberra. The Role Your key responsibilities will include the following: • Advise on procurement proposals including quality assurance and endorsement of procurement plans • Manage the advertising of procurement opportunities to market, manage enquiries and providing market responses to internal clients • Provide quality assurance to procurement evaluation reports and related contracts to endorsement stage prior to delegate approval • Provide strategic advice on procurement related initiatives and updating procurement related documents and instructions in line with procurement processes and guidelines • Prepare and oversight of reporting obligations for the Annual Report, back pocket briefs and external reporting including Indigenous procurements, consultants, contractors, marketing and Big 4 consultancy form expenditure The Ideal Person To be successful in this role, you must have EL1-level experience in a procurement role in a Commonwealth Government environment. Experience managing staff and using TechOne will be highly regarded. You will also have: • Experience interpreting service contracts and agreements, associated legislation, and current Commonwealth procurement and purchasing guidelines • Experience using relevant whole-of-government panels, such as the MAS Panel and the People Panel • The ability to negotiate and liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure positive outcomes • Experience managing complex customer relationships, including the management of customer expectations • The ability to identify, establish and implement new services and customer service systems and system improvement initiatives To be eligible for this role, you must be an Australian citizen and be willing to undergo a police check.
