Chandler Macleod is seeking an experienced Media & Stakeholder Communications Advisor to join a Federal government client focused on community engagement, social cohesion, and public communications. This is an exciting opportunity for a communications professional with strong media relations experience to contribute to meaningful initiatives that support positive community outcomes. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and coordinating external communications, engaging with stakeholders, and providing strategic advice on media and public messaging. Key Responsibilities • Provide strategic external communications support to a senior government office. • Review, prepare, and coordinate information for release to media outlets. • Develop media responses, briefing materials, and communication products for external audiences. • Provide expert advice on engagement with media representatives and external stakeholders. • Support stakeholder engagement activities and initiatives that foster positive community relationships. • Ensure all communications are accurate, culturally appropriate, sensitive, and aligned with broader government objectives. About You To be successful in this role, you will bring: • Demonstrated experience in external communications, media relations, public affairs, or a related field. • Proven ability to prepare, review, and coordinate media and public-facing communications. • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management capabilities. • Sound judgement and the ability to manage sensitive issues with professionalism and discretion. Highly regarded experience includes: • Engagement with multicultural communities, particularly within Islamic communities. • Experience in community engagement, social cohesion, diversity, inclusion, or related policy areas. • Previous experience working within government or the Australian Public Service.
