ACT IT & Telecomms IT - Other • Canberra, ACT (Hybrid) • Must have a Baseline Security Clearance • 12-Month Contract + 2 x 12-Month Extension Options ICT Configuration Manager About the Opportunity A Federal Government Department is seeking an experienced ICT Configuration Manager to lead and mature its Configuration Management Database (CMDB) capability and support critical ICT service management functions. This role will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity and governance of configuration data across the enterprise, enabling effective service management, cyber security, compliance, change control and operational support activities. You will play a key role in strengthening CMDB governance, improving dependency mapping, supporting audit and security requirements, and integrating cloud and emerging technologies into configuration management practices. Key Responsibilities • Lead the design, implementation and continuous improvement of the CMDB capability. • Manage Configuration Item (CI) lifecycle processes and governance standards. • Maintain accurate service relationships and dependency mapping. • Develop and implement CMDB governance, policies and procedures. • Conduct data validation, reconciliation and quality assurance activities. • Support ICT audit, security, compliance and asset management requirements. • Enable effective Change, Release, Incident and Problem Management through reliable configuration data. • Integrate cloud services, automation platforms and discovery tools into configuration management processes. • Develop reporting, dashboards and performance metrics relating to CMDB health and maturity. • Collaborate with stakeholders across ICT Operations, Cyber Security, Service Management and business teams. Essential Skills & Experience • Demonstrated experience managing and improving CMDB and Configuration Management capabilities within complex ICT environments. • Strong understanding of Configuration Item (CI) lifecycle management, service mapping and dependency relationships. • Experience implementing governance frameworks that maintain CMDB accuracy, completeness and integrity. • Proven experience with ServiceNow CMDB administration, governance and reporting. • Strong knowledge of ITIL and IT Service Management (ITSM) practices. • Experience supporting Change, Incident, Problem, Release, Asset and Compliance Management processes. • Ability to perform impact assessments using configuration and relationship data. • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills. Highly Desirable • Experience working within Australian Government ICT environments. • Understanding of Government security, compliance and assurance requirements. • Experience integrating cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), endpoint management, infrastructure and software asset data into CMDB environments. • Experience with ServiceNow Discovery, Service Mapping or related automation capabilities. • ITIL Foundation or higher certification. • ServiceNow certifications. • Experience developing operational procedures, governance documentation and knowledge transfer materials.
