The organisation delivers critical capabilities that support Australia's security interests and requires highly skilled cyber professionals to assist in protecting and strengthening Australia's cyber posture. Job Description We are seeking two experienced Lead Penetration Testers to identify and assess vulnerabilities across ICT applications and gateway infrastructure. Operating at an EL1 equivalent level, you will conduct complex penetration testing activities, analyse security weaknesses, and deliver detailed reporting and recommendations to strengthen cyber resilience. This opportunity offers an initial 12-month engagement with extension options and the chance to work within a highly specialised and security-focused environment. Duties and Responsibilities • Conduct penetration testing of ICT applications and gateway infrastructure. • Utilise a range of penetration testing techniques, frameworks and tools. • Develop specific plans and procedures for penetration testing activities. • Record testing approaches, techniques and results for reporting purposes. • Create and maintain penetration testing reports. • Recommend technical solutions for identified vulnerabilities. • Provide authoritative advice and guidance across penetration testing activities. • Coordinate and lead penetration testing engagements. • Contribute to security testing standards and the implementation of new penetration testing approaches. Education/Certifications required Relevant certifications include: • CHECK Team Leader • CREST Certified Tester (Infrastructure) • CREST Certified Tester (Web Applications) • Equivalent industry-recognised penetration testing certifications Knowledge/Skills required • Digital Forensics - SFIA Level 4 • Penetration Testing - SFIA Level 5 • Penetration Testing and Simulated Attack Exercises - CIISEC Level 5 • Specialist Advice - SFIA Level 4 • Experience conducting complex digital forensic investigations • Expertise using commercial and bespoke penetration testing tools • Ability to lead complex penetration testing engagements • Strong reporting, analysis and stakeholder advisory skills • Ability to identify vulnerabilities, assess security controls and recommend mitigation strategies • Strong understanding of security testing frameworks, methodologies and best practice Diversity and Inclusion Cleared and our clients are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace where all employees are treated with respect and have equal opportunities to succeed.
