• Long-term contract – 12 months + 2 x 12 month extensions • High-impact mainframe development role within a Federal Government Department • Competitive hourly rates $$ A prominent Federal Government Department is seeking an experienced IBM Mainframe Developer (Associate Developer) to join their ICT Division. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the development and sustainment of large-scale enterprise systems supporting critical national services. The successful IBM Mainframe Developer will work across key initiatives supporting business-critical platforms, enhancing system performance, reliability, and operational capability. The IBM Mainframe Developer will be offered an initial 12-month contract with 2 x 12-month extension options and will be based onsite in Canberra . The successful IBM Mainframe Developer will be responsible for, but not limited to: • Develop, test and maintain high-quality COBOL-based applications across the full software development lifecycle. • Integrate software components into fully functional enterprise systems and support deployment activities. • Troubleshoot, debug and resolve complex technical issues within secure mainframe environments. • Collaborate with project managers, business analysts and ICT teams to deliver high-quality, fit-for-purpose solutions. To be successful, the IBM Mainframe Developer will demonstrate: • Strong expertise in COBOL, CICS, JCL, VSAM, DB2 and mainframe operating systems such as z/OS or z/VSE. • Proven experience in mainframe application development, unit testing and systems integration. • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and technical documentation skills.
