Role: Operations Manager (Owner's Representative) Location: Townsville QLD Contract: Fixed term until 30 June 2028 Salary: By negotiation + super (not specified range) Overview This role represents the Queensland Government as the on site operational governance and assurance lead. The position is accountable for ensuring the third party operator delivers safe, reliable and repeatable operations aligned to defined performance standards, governance frameworks and operational expectations. It focuses on influencing outcomes rather than direct workforce management. Key Focus Areas • Operational governance and assurance of a third party operator • Start up and early operations readiness • Performance monitoring, KPI oversight and continuous improvement • Management of change and asset configuration control • High risk operational oversight and critical control verification • Stakeholder management across government, contractors and customers • Supporting commercialisation and industry engagement Ideal Candidate Profile • Extensive experience in minerals processing or heavy industrial operations • Proven background as Owner's Representative or operational assurance lead • Strong governance, risk and asset management capability • Experience in commissioning or start up environments • Ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority • Strong communication skills, including executive level reporting Key Requirements • C class driver licence • Construction white card • Australian working rights • Willingness to travel as required Please apply online to be considered for a confidential discussion on your alignment to this opportunity.
