• 12-month contract + 2 x 12 month extension options • Canberra based Federal Government contract • Rewarding hourly rates $$ One of Australia’s most progressive Federal Government agencies is looking to engage an experienced Satellite Communications Engineer to support a major satellite modernisation program. The successful Satellite Communications Engineer will play a key role in the design, implementation and maintenance of satellite communication systems across complex and geographically dispersed environments. The successful Satellite Communications Engineer will be responsible for, but not limited to: • Supporting the design, implementation and maintenance of satellite communication systems across legacy GEO and modern NGSO technologies. • Contributing to high-level design activities, technical investigations and satellite terminal deployment planning. • Supporting the delivery and upkeep of high-performance satellite terminals across remote and challenging operating environments. • Working closely with architecture, cyber assurance and regional technical teams to ensure secure, reliable and resilient communications. • Providing leadership, mentoring and technical guidance to satellite communications team members and field technicians. The successful Satellite Communications Engineer will have experience in the following: • Demonstrated experience in satellite communications engineering, including GEO & NGSO systems. • Strong understanding of RF and microwave communication systems, including design, testing and optimisation. • Experience planning and implementing high-availability WAN services, including satellite-based connectivity solutions. • Ability to produce high-quality technical documentation, including high-level designs & maintenance plans. • Strong communication and collaboration skills, including experience working with cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams.
