Senior Data Engineer

• NV1 Security clearance required | AP6 equivalent • Canberra, Melbourne, Geelong or Surry Hills locations • 7.5 hour days | Hybrid/flexible - 2 days WFH Our client, an independent statutory agency dedicated to supporting Australians with significant disability, require the services of a Senior Data Engineer (APS6 equivalent). Duties of the Senior Data Engineer: • Develop, maintain, and optimise enterprise data pipelines, ETL processes, and analytical code; • Define and maintain data modelling, peer review, development, and release standards; • Lead technical implementation activities from requirements analysis through to deployment and operational support; • Develop and maintain SQL analytical and ETL code supporting enterprise reporting and analytics and optimise and tune SQL code to improve performance and efficiency. Skills required: • Proven experience developing and supporting enterprise data warehouse and data integration solutions. • Competency in at least two platforms such as MS SQL, Teradata, Snowflake, Redshift, or Databricks. • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SAS, R, or Java alongside SQL. • Experience working in DevOps environments with version control and software delivery practices. Desirable experience includes working with AWS cloud services (S3, Glue), enterprise analytics platforms, metadata-driven frameworks, and Agile delivery environments.
