Job Description Our client is seeking two experienced Senior Security Engineer - Vulnerability Assessors to support critical cyber security initiatives. Working at an APS6 equivalent level, you will identify, assess and prioritise vulnerabilities through security assessment and testing activities while providing recommendations to strengthen security architecture and improve organisational risk awareness. The successful candidates will contribute to the protection of highly sensitive ICT environments, ensuring security controls remain effective and emerging threats are appropriately assessed and managed. Duties and Responsibilities • Assess and explain threat profiles across a variety of electronic devices. • Lead analytical activities to identify and recommend actions that maintain and improve ICT infrastructure integrity. • Evaluate security controls and assess compliance requirements. • Review information systems for actual or potential security vulnerabilities. • Conduct security risk and business impact assessments for complex information systems. • Investigate suspected cyber attacks and support security incident management activities. • Maintain and optimise operational security processes. • Provide advice on physical, procedural and technical security controls covering both digital and physical assets. • Apply appropriate systems design methods, tools and techniques across predictive and adaptive delivery approaches. • Review system designs, assess risks and provide recommendations regarding technology selection, system integration and resource utilisation. • Contribute to the development of systems design policies, standards and architecture component selection. Education/Certifications required • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Cyber Security, Information Security, Information Technology or a related discipline. • Relevant industry certifications highly regarded, including CREST Registered Threat Intelligence Analyst or equivalent. Knowledge/Skills required • Compliance Monitoring and Controls Testing (Level 4 - CIISEC). • Internal and Statutory Audit (Level 4 - CIISEC). • Intrusion Detection and Analysis (Level 2 - CIISEC). • Threat Intelligence, Assessment and Threat Modelling (Level 4 - CIISEC). • Experience conducting compliance monitoring and security controls testing. • Experience supporting security audits as part of a broader team. • Understanding of network and system monitoring principles, including the identification of anomalous behaviour. • Ability to undertake threat intelligence activities, threat assessments and threat modelling with limited supervision. • Strong analytical, risk assessment and cyber security investigation capabilities. • Experience working within complex and highly secure ICT environments.
