This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior SOE Systems Engineer to join a highly skilled technology team delivering and supporting modern endpoint and workplace technologies within a complex enterprise environment. Job Description We are seeking a Senior SOE Systems Engineer (EL1 equivalent) with extensive experience in Microsoft endpoint management, device engineering, and enterprise system integration. You will play a key role in designing, building, automating, and supporting secure Standard Operating Environment (SOE) solutions while working closely with technical teams, business stakeholders, and security specialists. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to large-scale technology initiatives that directly support Australia's national policing capabilities. RFQ Details • RFQ ID: LH-07228 • Contract Duration: Initial 36-month engagement • Start Date: November 2026 • Maximum Candidates Per Supplier: 3 • Daily Hours: 7.5 hours • Experience Level: Senior (EL1 Equivalent) Duties and Responsibilities • Collaborate with AFP business users and system administrators to improve and optimise ICT and business solutions. • Design, build, automate and maintain enterprise SOE environments. • Manage Microsoft endpoint technologies and device engineering solutions. • Integrate identity and access management capabilities across enterprise platforms. • Implement endpoint security hardening and compliance controls. • Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve complex operational and technical issues. • Participate in software configuration planning, deployment and lifecycle management. • Produce system design documentation, implementation guides, procedures and policies. • Identify and communicate technical risks, assumptions, dependencies and quality concerns. • Ensure compliance with AFP ICT policies, standards and governance requirements. • Provide mentoring, coaching and technical leadership to team members. • Support knowledge transfer activities across technical teams. • Contribute to the continuous improvement of ICT practices, processes and service delivery. • Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with AFP requirements. • Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders and technical teams. Education/Certifications Required • Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline desirable. • Industry certifications relating to Microsoft Endpoint Management, Microsoft 365, Azure, Security, or Enterprise Mobility highly regarded. • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development. Knowledge/Skills Required Essential experience includes: • Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune) administration and engineering. • Device management and endpoint lifecycle management. • SOE design, build, deployment and automation. • Microsoft 365 and Modern Workplace technologies. • Identity and Access Management integration. • Endpoint security hardening and compliance implementation. • Enterprise systems integration. • PowerShell scripting and automation. • Windows enterprise administration and support. • Infrastructure engineering within complex enterprise environments. • Technical documentation and solution design. • Stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills. Highly desirable: • Experience in Federal Government, Defence, Intelligence, Law Enforcement, or National Security environments. • Exposure to large-scale transformation and modern workplace programs. • Experience working within highly regulated and security-focused environments.
