Job Description We are seeking an experienced Software Test Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team working on large-scale, mission-critical government projects. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability and performance of software solutions through the design, execution and management of testing activities. You will collaborate closely with engineers, stakeholders and customers to verify that systems meet both functional and non-functional requirements within a secure and complex technical environment. Duties and Responsibilities • Develop test strategies, test plans, test cases and supporting artefacts. • Execute functional, integration, system and regression testing activities. • Identify, investigate and troubleshoot software defects and issues. • Accurately document and manage defects using appropriate tools. • Communicate testing outcomes and technical findings to stakeholders. • Perform testing across internally and externally hosted environments. • Conduct investigative testing using system and product knowledge. • Support Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) practices. • Collaborate with software engineers and technical teams throughout the development lifecycle. • Contribute to continuous improvement of testing frameworks, methodologies and processes. Education / Certifications Required • Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline are desirable. • Relevant testing certifications such as ISTQB are highly regarded. Knowledge / Skills Required • Experience translating functional and non-functional requirements into effective test cases. • Experience deploying, integrating and supporting systems incorporating bespoke and COTS solutions. • Proven experience performing functional, integration, system and regression testing. • Strong experience creating test plans, test cases and test reports. • Experience working within secure or highly regulated environments. • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and modern engineering practices. • Experience using defect and issue management tools. • Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills (RHEL preferred). • Experience using network analysis tools such as Wireshark or tcpdump. • Scripting and object-oriented programming experience is highly desirable. • Experience with test automation frameworks is advantageous. • Familiarity with Cross Domain Solutions (CDS) technologies is highly regarded. • Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar software testing role.
