IT Systems Administrator Location: Adelaide, SA Working Arrangement: Full-Time Clearance Required: NV1 Security Clearance About the Opportunity Cleared Recruitment is partnering with a leading Australian Defence technology organisation seeking an experienced IT Systems Administrator to support and enhance a secure, enterprise ICT environment. This is an opportunity to join a growing team delivering innovative technology solutions to Defence and national security customers. You'll work across cloud platforms, cyber security, networking, infrastructure, virtualisation, and end-user support while helping maintain critical business systems in a highly secure environment. The Role As the IT Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for the day-to-day administration, maintenance, security, and continuous improvement of the organisation's ICT environment. You will ensure business-critical systems remain secure, reliable, and compliant while providing technical support across the organisation. This role is ideal for a proactive professional who enjoys working autonomously, solving complex technical challenges, and contributing to the ongoing uplift of ICT capabilities. Key Responsibilities Cloud & Microsoft Technologies • Administer and support Microsoft 365 services, including Teams, Entra ID (Azure AD), SharePoint Online, and Exchange Online. • Manage user accounts, permissions, access controls, and security policies. • Monitor system performance and respond to service issues. Infrastructure & Systems Administration • Administer Linux environments, including Ubuntu servers. • Maintain virtualisation platforms and supporting infrastructure. • Perform system patching, upgrades, monitoring, troubleshooting, and documentation. • Support internal services, development platforms, authentication systems, and VPN technologies. Networking & Cyber Security • Maintain network infrastructure including switches, routers, firewalls, and VPNs. • Support ICT security operations, access management, and privileged account controls. • Assist with security compliance activities, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives. End-User Support • Configure, deploy, and support laptops, desktops, and peripheral equipment. • Provide technical support and troubleshooting across the business. • Manage hardware lifecycle activities from procurement through to decommissioning. Continuous Improvement • Identify opportunities to improve system performance, security, automation, and operational efficiency. • Contribute to technology uplift projects and process improvements. Skills & Experience Essential • Experience administering Microsoft 365 environments. • Linux systems administration experience. • Experience supporting virtualisation platforms. • Networking and infrastructure support experience. • Knowledge of backup and recovery solutions. • Strong understanding of ICT security principles and access controls. • Experience providing end-user technical support. Desirable • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins. • Scripting and automation experience. • Experience working within Defence, government, or other regulated environments. • Knowledge of Essential Eight and DISP requirements. Requirements • Current NV1 Security Clearance is mandatory. • Relevant qualifications in Information Technology, Systems Administration, Networking, or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
